Geographies of Listening

Geographies of Listening

A three-day festival celebrating the opening of the permanent Public Community Library at Out of Sight.

The festival approaches lostening from several distinct artistic positions. Eszter Némethi & Julia E. Dyck, Isabel Burr Raty, Eva van Tongeren, Kristina Camilleri-Grygolec and Zone of Dawn (Study Circle Antwerp), are generously opening up their ongoing research and inviting you to join the festival and the opening of the Public Community Library.

Across three days, listening shifts from voice and language to the body and landscape, and from an intimate act between individuals to a collective and political practice.

We would be delighted to have you join us to mark this important occasion. Please save the dates in your calendars. We look forward to welcoming you to Antwerp.

The Public Community Library grows out of Out of Sight’s long-term commitment to the presentation of artistic research projects. Many artistic processes develop through conversation, experimentation, reading, listening, and exchange, yet these forms of knowledge often remain invisible once a work is presented publicly. The Public Community Library creates a context in which these processes can remain accessible and continue to generate new encounters.

FESTIVAL PROGRAMME

Friday, 16.10.2026

For this occasion, Kristina Camilleri-Grygolec explores different forms of dehydrated dough: crackers, dried breads, and other long-lasting preparations, as a way of tracing the breads we carry with us across geographies, memories, and cultures, and as forms of nourishment that can sustain us on a journey. You are warmly invited to gather around the table to taste and share the breads.
