Study Circle Collegno

Critical imagination is a practice. We ask what kinds of institutions, relations, and forms of public life can be rehearsed before they become policy, programme, or habit. Working through dance, embodied knowledge, and speculative artistic practice, we explore how art can try out other ways of being together. What institutions do we need, and how can we practise them?

Our circle moves between institutional imagination, public space, memory, listening, care, touch, and relational learning. In Collegno, we work with Lavanderia’s Scuola di Desideri, elderly residents, care institutions, people with disabilities, local policymakers, and European residency networks. The research unfolds alongside ARIA, a collective residency, and INTERSPAZIO, a platform connecting artistic practice, theory, and territory.

We work through performative assemblies, speculative workshops, durational residencies, policy prototyping, and public situations. These are temporary infrastructures for testing new ways of thinking, deciding, and acting together. In this way the institution transforms, becomes commons: open, evolving, and shaped through shared responsibility. In this way, cultural production becomes a practice of democratic possibility.
