EVENING SCHOOL ON CARE is a performative event in the form of an evening school, conceived by Lavanderia a Vapore, with the co-curation of Elisabetta Consonni and Daniele Ninarello.

During the festival, we look into the educational paradigm and the transmission of knowledge. Since it is an unofficial training trip, we focused on the wet knowledge (vs. the hard knowledge) – a liquid knowledge connected to the complexity of the times, fluid and ever-changing.

This kind of knowledge escapes doctrine and institutional teachings. It establishes new worlds through connectedness to groups and experiences of resistance and resilience. This Evening school is characterised by transversal and horizontal postures. It provides a soft and open space.

PROGRAMME

Day 1 :: DISTESTED BODY: BETWEEN POSSESSION AND PROTEST
Thursday, November 2, 2023
Lavanderia a Vapore, Corso Pastrengo 51, Collegno (To), Italy

10:00 – 11:15 / ORGIA
Workshop with Daniele Ninarello

Shared practices focus on listening to what one’s connective tissues ask to release in response to the information provided by the environment in which the bodies are immersed.

11:15 – 11:45 / SPArt rites of transition
A small wellness treatment by Elisabetta Consonni

12:00 – 13:30 / Shamans and the Journey
Workshop with Olimpia Fortuni and Corinna Ciulli

Who are shamans? How did their practices survive over 30000 years? How can they be integrated into everyday life and why is it necessary to do so? Course participants learn and experience the Shamanic Journey: voluntary and conscious alteration of the state of consciousness, supported by the rhythmic and constant sound of the drum.

15:00 – 18:00 / Rehearsing Horizontalities
Workshop with Eliana Otta

How much effort do we put into being still? Why do our daily activities require detachment from being grounded? The ground is only for the defeated or for rest, to recharge our strength for the next daily battles. What if the ground is the best place to reflect on such battles? What if sharing the same ground, at the same time, is the only way to discover other ways to share what comes after getting up?

18:00 – 20:00 / The Souq of Knowledge
Immersive installation with Lucilla Barchetta, Isterika istorika, Mattia Cantele e Bianca Cipollaro/La cura infestante, Collettiva Neuroqueer, Anna Basile/Studio Delta Pottery, Orto che cura/Coop. Il Margine, Rossana Albrito/Naturopati-amo, Simona Murgia/ Mondo Doula, Milvia Selle/ex infermiera Op, Benedicte Grâce Ngo Kack

In a clandestine market, the knowledge connected to care, often kept in the shadows, emerges in a souq where experts in care practices share their time and knowledge with one person at a time. Visitors choose the expert with whom to interface, booking their slot in a macro-calendar of daily offers, independently composing the subjects of their evening school.

Day 2 :: THE WORD AND THE VOICE AS INCARNATION
Friday, November 3, 2023
Lavanderia a Vapore, Corso Pastrengo 51, Collegno (To), Italy

10:00 – 11:15 / ORGIA
Workshop with Daniele Ninarello

11:15 – 11:45 / SPArt rites of transition
A small wellness treatment by Elisabetta Consonni

11:30 – 13:30 / Who takes care of me?
Workshop with
Maire Moise

A workshop proposes to work on the concepts of care and interdependence, departin from the book “Manifesto della cura” by The Care collective, co-translated by Marie Moïse. The journey explores the subjective experiences of the care relationship, using tools such as mapping activities, self-awareness and role-playing games. We experiment and rethink together a range of practices worthy of what the Manifesto calls “ethics of promiscuous care”, the driving principle of the “care community”.

15:00 – 18:00 / Incomprehensible language course
Experimental laboratory of unbridled Onomaturgy with Noura Tafeche

Have you ever thought that there is no word that can unite wax crayons and moths in the same category? If they discovered a new number between two and three, what would you call it? How would you describe the color of a bell presser (its meaning is not found in the dictionary or elsewhere)? Are you wondering what the purpose is of stirring up and disturbing the intuitive order of language so much? Well, to break down reality and get closer to a new one we need exercises, participatory methods and games of imagination. Not with the aim of creating meaningless chaos or exhibiting liberating babbling as an end in itself. But to invent new words for new concepts to which we had never thought of before. To make inroads into what we thought we had certainties about and reevaluate the usefulness of what does not yet exist. You play to find satisfaction in the unexpected. It is a practice that does not require an outcome to be presented, but rather an unconventional method to take home to take care of our use of language.

18:00 – 20:00 / The Souq of Knowledge
Immersive installation with Lucilla Barchetta, Isterika istorika, Mattia Cantele e Bianca Cipollaro/La cura infestante, Collettiva Neuroqueer, Anna Basile/Studio Delta Pottery, Orto che cura/Coop. Il Margine, Rossana Albrito/Naturopati-amo, Simona Murgia/ Mondo Doula, Milvia Selle/ex infermiera Op, Benedicte Grâce Ngo Kack

21:30  / Bolo site specific
Collective movement practice by Valerie Tameu

The artist shares his research by proposing a collective movement practice linked to shaking, bubbling, bouncing, rhythmic, halfway between a fun and ramshackle group dance and a collective ritual connected to trance.

Edited and produced by Sineglossa within FOOD DATA DIGESTION, with the support of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, as part of the ART-WAVES call.

23:00  / Elementare
One-night vocal performance by the Collettivo Amigdala

Elementare is a temporary alliance between the public and artists, called to share the time of a night around an incessant song that lasts for hours. Elementare is first and foremost an experience: both for whom he performs it, continuing his singing through the hours of the night and taking it where control and precision are lost, to find an unexpected part of himself; both for those who enjoy it, falling asleep, forcing themselves to stay awake or not being able to do otherwise, like a ritual that has the flavour of a promise. In both cases, it is the singing that dictates the tempo and the poetry that guides the wait.

Mattresses and blankets are available, we recommend bringing comfortable clothing suitable for sleeping and everything you need for the night.

Day 3 :: SENSATIONS
Saturday, November 4, 2023
Lavanderia a Vapore, Corso Pastrengo 51, Collegno (To), Italy

10:00 – 11:15 // ORGIA

11:15 – 11:45 / SPArt rites of transition
A small wellness treatment by Elisabetta Consonni

12:00 – 13:30 / I KNOW YOU BY HEART
Workshop curated by Elena Giannotti

For this meeting we use visualisation, listening and movement practices to navigate the body/space/memory. The exercises are elaborations of Elena’s experiences in Chinese medicine, from the study of somatic practices and from theatrical experiences.

15:00 – 18:00 / WOW new ways of living together
Workshop with Michela Depetris

Bodily practices and small actions, to find new ways of living this WOW WIDE WEB together

18:00 – 20:00 / The Souq of Knowledge
Immersive installation with Lucilla Barchetta, Isterika istorika, Mattia Cantele e Bianca Cipollaro/La cura infestante, Collettiva Neuroqueer, Anna Basile/Studio Delta Pottery, Orto che cura/Coop. Il Margine, Rossana Albrito/Naturopati-amo, Simona Murgia/ Mondo Doula, Milvia Selle/ex infermiera Op, Benedicte Grâce Ngo Kack

20:45 / Healing Together PREMIERE
Choreography: Daniele Ninarello / Performers: Vera Borghini, Loredana Canditone, Silvia Brazzale, Raffaele Tori

This new group creation was born from a series of short choreographic actions called “silent protests” created during lockdown periods and dedicated to the concept of the “protest body”. The desire is to create a process in which the performers can abandon themselves to a mutually constructed space in which to exhibit their vulnerable bodies. In this shared space the performers proceed together through a dance that emerges from their own stream of consciousness activated in real time, in order to release and reveal new and held tensions.

Day 4 :: MIXING

18:00 – 19:00 / WOW WIDE WEB
Idea and creation by Michela Depetris, with Michela Depetris, B. Bordoni, Zoe Francia Lamattina, Ida Malfatti, Claudia Veronesi

WOW WIDE WEB is a hybrid research between performance, possession ritual, dance, sound installation, imagination, desire, hypnosis and other undefined things. It is an attempt to honor the transitive, the grandiose soup of existence in which we live, the continuous becoming of the matter of which we are part, whether visible or not. WOW WIDE WEB manifests itself as an atmospheric experience that passes from one form to another, invoking transformation and soliciting the invisible. The word overwrites matter and creates another, nourishes the internal vision with mutability, irony and sensuality. The spirit of the research is magmatic and sprawling, like the movement of the bodies that embody it, like the veins, like the streets and rivers in the fluorescent geography of a planet ‘inside a research path, an orbit around something to come.

19:00 – 20:00 / DISCO IN TRANCE
Curated by Claudia Veronesi, Gaia Ginevra Giorgi, Zoe Francia Lamattina
