MEET THE RESIDENTS JUNE 2024
Ahilan is currently developing a new project titled The Institute for Anarchic and Artistic Language Learning, drawing inspiration from institutions like the Goethe Institut, Alliance Française, and The British Council. The Institute seeks to make alternative and under-valued language-learning techniques and strategies more accessible while questioning traditional language-learning pedagogy and what is deemed valid within it.
During his residency, Ahilan collaborated with artists Elisabetta Consonni, Marika Smerkovà (along with her 2-month-old daughter Marina), and dramaturg Enrica Camporesi.
This residency is part of On Mobilisation, a grassroots initiative that emphasizes community mobilisation through artistic processes. The project is co-funded by the European Union.
