Yesterday marked the end of ON INCLUSIVE MOBILISATION: Afternoon Accessibility School
Yesterday marked the end of ON INCLUSIVE MOBILISATION: Afternoon Accessibility School, a three-day program in Prague from October 7 to October 9, 2023. Organized by Studio ALTA and featuring participants Marika Smreková, Hana Chmelíková, Seiko Hihara, Kateřina Kuchtová, Martina Malinová, Jitka Ribárová, Barbora Trnková, and Darina Alster & The Daughters, this initiative explored how to make spaces truly inclusive for all. The program focused on removing barriers that often isolate and separate us, with special attention to the experiences of (new) parents navigating cultural spaces like theatres, galleries, and concert halls. Through workshops, discussions, and performance-lectures, participants challenged existing infrastructures, reimagined accessibility, and questioned whom these spaces serve or exclude.
Highlights included Signals – Resilience Training to enhance communication skills, a Gardening Ecofeminism symposium with free childcare addressing societal and environmental oppression, and moments of relaxation, shared meals, and a final day of performance-lectures envisioning a more inclusive cultural future.
The program was an inspiring step towards reshaping cultural spaces through art and inclusivity.
