How far have we come in a year and a half? What strategies have we used to make our programs accessible? And what could a parent-friendly culture look like?

THE INSTITUTE staat voor het verspreiden van alternatieve en ongewaardeerde technieken en tactieken om talen aan te leren. Tegelijkertijd stelt The Institute zich vragen over wat wordt gevalideerd als taal-didactiek. / THE INSTITUTE is created to make alternative and under-valued language-learning techniques and tactics more accessible. At the same time, The Institute raises questions in regards to language-learning pedagogy and what gets validated as such.

As one of the On Mobilisation artists, Kalle Brolin was invited to “ghost” the artistic process of Elisabetta Consonni during her last residency session when she was finalising her artistic research “How to become a platypus”, leading towards the premiere.

In 2024 Lavanderia hosted the artistic research of Elisabetta Consonni, and facilitated a development of the ongoing project “Special Handling” that finally generated a new performative device: “How to become a Platypus”.

After the awakening of Spring, the new season heats up and brings us to a boil, preparing the ground for revolt: the solar horizon rises and so bodies and voices soar ever higher to the point of overthrowing the politics of the present.

The exhibition took place at Lavanderia a Vapore from May 29 – May 31, 2024, investigating the theme of mobilising imaginaries and bodies to generate collective actions for alternative political scenarios.

Three evenings about and with the peace movement in Gotland

As one of the On Mobilisation artists, Ahilan Ratnamohan was invited to “ghost” the artistic process of Daniele Ninarello, and to inhabit the Evening School on Care that took place during his residency at Lavanderia a Vapore.

In 2023 Lavanderia a Vapore focused on the artistic inquiry of Daniele Ninarello, supporting the development of his project “Healing Together”.

EVENING SCHOOL ON CARE is a performative event in the form of an evening school, conceived by Lavanderia a Vapore, with the co-curation of Elisabetta Consonni and Daniele Ninarello. 

The three-day long Evening School "On Mobilisation and Learning" focusses on alternative and informal ways of learning.

"The Afternoon Accessibility School" aims to create spaces where parents and non-parents can join each other, breaking at least one of many barriers.

Performance maker and researcher Danae Theodoridou expands her artist research on the "Practice of Democracy" during her 3-weeks long residency at wpZimmer. She starts a new thread of work focused on the practice of conflict, and develops further her recent work on the practice of assembling.

The international symposium, ON LANGUAGES AND LANDSCAPES OF MOBILISATION organised by Baltic Art Center is the first symposium within the ON MOBILISATION project, that takes place on Gotland on May 31st and June 1st, 2023.

In May 2023, artist, performer and researcher, Danae Theodoridou, is hosted by Baltic Art Center. During this residency, Danae looks into how citizens assemble on Gotland, and around which causes.

During his residency at Baltic Art Center, artist and writer, Kalle Brolin, is starting his two-years long artistic research "On Languages of Mobilisation" (working title).
